Course Description
There are a few reasons why DNA is one of the most widely used biometric technologies in the world. The first reason is that many people feel that DNA is the most exact and never fails technology. Of course, there is no such thing as 100% accuracy because something can go wrong at any time and mistakes occur. However, when this occurs, it is usually recognized as an error and the tests are repeated to obtain the proper results.
DNA is comparable to fingerprint biometrics in that it can be found anywhere. A fingerprint may be discovered everywhere if a person has touched something, and DNA can be found readily if you find blood, pee, or any other liquid that has originated from a human. Another fascinating aspect of DNA technology is its speed. This means that DNA test results could be ready in as little as 90 minutes.
